Cancellation and refunds
Plans change, and the weather in the lagoon has the last word. This page explains what happens when you cancel, when we cancel, and how you get your money back.
Last updated 6 October 2026.
Each trip has its own policy
The cancellation policy of every trip is shown on the trip page, again at checkout and on your voucher. It says how much you get back depending on how long before departure you cancel. For example:
- More than 48 hours before departure: free cancellation, full refund.
- Less than 48 hours before, or no-show: no refund.
The policy shown when you booked is the one that applies to your booking, even if the trip's policy changes later. The time that counts is the departure time on your voucher, in Mauritius time (GMT+4).
How to cancel
Any of these works, and the time we receive your message is the time that counts:
- reply to your booking email
- message us on WhatsApp with your booking reference
- in your account, open the booking and choose "Request a change or cancellation"
We confirm every cancellation by email, with the amount we refund.
If the trip is cancelled for weather or safety
The operator decides on the morning, for everyone's safety. If they cancel or cut short a trip because of the weather, sea conditions or any other safety reason, you choose: a new date, or a full refund. We contact you as soon as we know.
If the operator runs the trip but you would rather not go because of the weather, the trip's normal cancellation policy applies.
Changing the date
Ask us as early as you can. We move your booking free of charge if the new date has room and you ask before the trip's free-cancellation time. After that, a change counts as a cancellation under the trip's policy. If the price on the new date is different, the price you paid is kept.
No-shows and arriving late
If you do not come, or arrive after the boat has left, it counts as a no-show and no refund is due. Running late? Call or message us, or the skipper's number on your voucher, straight away.
How refunds are paid
- Card payments are refunded to the same card.
- Bank transfers are refunded to the account you tell us, in Mauritius or abroad (any bank charges for a transfer abroad are deducted).
- We send the refund within 5 working days of the cancellation. Your bank may then take up to 10 working days to show it.
- If a trip's policy includes a processing fee, it is shown on the trip page and at checkout before you book.
- The refund is based on what you actually paid, after any discount code. A discount code used on a cancelled booking is not given back.
- You receive a credit note by email for every refund on a booking that had a VAT invoice.
Something else
Unusual situation, such as illness, a delayed flight, or a family emergency? Message us. We cannot always refund outside the policy, but we always try to find a fair solution, such as another date.
These rules are part of our terms.
